Ellis Island

Ellis Island is home to a museum dedicated to the former immigration inspection station that operated from 1892 to 1954. Over 12 million immigrants arrived in the United States through this island. The American Museum of Immigration offers insights into the experiences of those arriving in America for the first time, seeking a better life. The Ellis Island Immigrant Hospital Complex, located on the south side, is only accessible via guided tour.
